The Caspian Sea region is one of the most dynamic focal points in Eurasia, and not only because of its strategic oil and gas resources. There are two major issues that contribute to its dynamism: the local engagement of regional and extra-regional actors alike and the interlacing of economic and political motivations driving regional policies.
