(Event) Albats will discuss what it is like to publish a leading independent weekly journal in contemporary Russia and she will discuss the role of the Internet and social media. Albats is a professor of political science at the National Research University at the Higher School of Economics and hosts a radio show at Echo Moskvy. She earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University in 2004. She wrote, “The State Within a State: The KGB and Its Hold on Russia” (NY: Farrar , Straus & Giroux, 1994).
