Background
Dr. Sufian N. Zhemukhov is Associate Research Professor of International Affairs at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES), Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University. He has been a member of the Program on New Approaches to Research and Security in Eurasia (PONARS Eurasia) since 2008. He teaches at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He was recognized as 2016 Featured Scholar by the Institute for International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund.
